Thank you seafarers, Thanks you for everything !
A very small portion of human being is working at
sea.Floating at ship from one country to another one port to another. Have we
ever thought what they are doing Mankind! At present almost 90% of trade is
done by sea way by merchant ship. Total world economy largely depends on
Shipping industries as well as our seafarers. Global business stands on export
& import. The product with which we start our day tooth paste to every
single product depends on export or import by shipping. Each and every daily
needed products comes directly or indirectly by shipping. So in these point of
view seafarers are related to our daily life very firmly.
There is a saying that ,if seafarers strikes for one day
world will strive for month. So we can easily understand how important rules
they are playing for us. Do you know they have to sacrifice festivals whether
it is national or religious to keep the process smooth? They stay away from
their loving persons land society to keep our economy running. They are committing
the torture of loneliness with a smiling face to keep our mankind moving. By
means of these sacrifices can’t they expect love & respect rather than
money! They have to face the toughest working environment than any job. While
sailing they facing life threats in piracy and war effected zone. Still they
will be working so that everything runs smoothly. Sometimes seafarer have to
face various health hazard due to hostile working environment on board ship.
Often they have to do many risky job at ship. Sometimes which causes danger.
They have to work with the almost same monotonous tiring routine at ship. Very
often they have to work 18-20 hours at stress in any emergency. Seafarers are
working hard for long time without basic rights which enjoyed by most of the
shore job holders. Even many companies do not have any pension or welfare scheme
for seafarers . They are performing their duties with least accommodation and
communication facilities.
It’s our turn now. Seafarers never expect much from us they
expect love and respect from us. Seafarers are the most neglected
professionals, who have been overlooked by international communities and even
his own nations. So let’s say ,”Thank you seafarers, Thank you for everything”.
